These Sauteed shrimps are very easy to prepare, and tasty! I love serve them as appetizer, but they are great also as a snack, paired with beer or white wine. Furthermore, the sauteed shrimps are perfect for flavorful salads or sandwiches.
  • 1 Lb (450 g) peeled shrimps
  • 1 cloves of garlic
  • 10 leaves basil
  • 3 tbsp peanut oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • ⅓ tsp wasabi paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 dash black pepper
  1. BASIL AND GINGER PESTOWash and dry the shrimps. Pour into a sieve, the basil leaves, 1 clove of garlic, grated ginger, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp peanut oil. Mash all the ingredients until well mixed and creamy. Finally, pour half amount of pesto into a bowl and combine with shrimps and 2 tbsp of peanut oil. Toss well the shrimps, cover with plastic wrap and marinate 1 hour into the fridge. Combine the remaining pesto with 1 tbsp of soy sauce and the wasabi paste, then store in the fridge as well.
  2. SAUTEED SHRIMPSWhen the shrimps are well marinated, place a fry-pan over the heat. When the pan is hot, sear the shrimps over high heat until golden brown. When the shrimps are just cooked, combine them far from the heat with the remaining pesto.
  3. HOW TO SERVE THE SAUTEED SHRIMPSServe the sauteed shrimps hot, or save into the fridge up to a couple of days, then use in a tasty salad or sandwich.
